London Fashion Woes

Mala London

We’re a nation obsessed with fashion. Our capital city is renowned for its sharp dressing population and we’re infatuated with fashion blogs. That intended quick scroll on Instagram for style inspo can result in an hour long swoon, stalking style influencers across the globe. Long after we’ve spent all of that time browsing the web for outfit inspiration, we still usually feel like we’re at square 1 and haven’t even changed out of our pyjamas! As if fashion problems aren't hard enough, we live in a city with an indecisive weather pattern.

In an unpredictable city that often surprises us with damp days in Summer and random balmy Winter evenings it can be hard to plan ahead. As much as we hope that the rays of deceptive sunshine we see whilst sitting indoors is actually carrying some tropical heat, it is usually a mirage triggered by our lingering craving for a balanced climate day! Fear not Londoners, help is at hand with the simplest tip of them all – Keep. It. Simple.

Tip #1
Think Scandi-chic in all of its minimalist glory. Our European neighbours wouldn’t dress so well unless they wanted us to copy, right? Team abstract graphic white tops with dark wash jeans for an effortless day look that’s weather proof (just don’t forget your umbrella..).

Tip #2
Tried and tested monochrome is a quick and easy morning fashion fix. You cannot go wrong with a white shirt paired with a black skirt EVER. It’s a no-fuss, timeless, polished fix to any fashion dilemma. No female Londoner's day bag is complete without a pair of tights, just in case!

Black leather skirts are ideal for taking your look from day to night and adding a playful edge to post-work antics. Monochrome is completely appropriate for every season, making it a loved combination in temperamental climates everywhere!

Tip #3
The easiest of them all! Keep it smart casual and throw on a statement accessory. Investing in a pair of shoes and a bag with a bold print will revive any old outfit that you’re becoming bored of. Accessories can give your staple jumper or dress a new lease of life and lift your look.

Tip #4
When it comes to your jewels, tribal coin necklaces jazz up summer ensembles. Add some metallic tattoos for the festival season and you’ll be completely on trend for Summer ’16.

Whilst we bid farewell to the end of the colder months, revive chunky knits with rhinestone sparkles  and dainty midi rings.
